Chain stitch is probably the most versatile stitch in an embroiderer's stitch vocabulary. This sample has been stitched on silk fusion using many variations of threads and stitches. Some of the variations are twisted chain, interlaced chain, open chain, rosette chain, chained feather stitch, and double chain. The stitch can be done very openly or closed. It can be whipped to create a ridge. It is excellent for using in curved lines or creating decorative borders. Double click on the picture for a larger view.
