The Queen Stitch, also known as the Renaissance Stitch is one of the oldest popular stitches dating from the 16th and 17th Century. It was a favorite in the 18th Century resulting in beautiful regular patterns. The stitch is also known as the Rococo stitch from the American Revolution time when they didn't want anything to sound "royal". A globe shaped canvas stitch which can be used as a background, worked as a single sitich, and in diagonal rows.
