Guild Show 2015 – Into the Garden

The show is on display until Sept 20 at the lovely Tulista Gallery in Sidney – not far from the Anacortes Ferry Terminal and on a beautiful walkway by the sea. As the gallery administrator wrote "it has really turned my understanding of embroidery on its head!".

Guild Booth – 2015 Sewing Show

 

 

 

The Guild participated in the Sewing Show in Victoria again this year. We had a new major display hanging – a color wheel of 10 panels each consisting of 12 six inch squares from the color wheel, hand dyed and filled with hand and machine surface stitching. Rapt Threads Work Bee

On Feb. 10th and 11th Rapt Threads spent the days at the Saanich Fairgrounds playing with wheatpaste on fabrics and paper.  The group combined with the Mark Makers group who were also keen on exploring this technique.

Retreat 2015

Scottish Diaspora Update

Here’s an update on our panels. They arrived safely back in Scotland and are now on display with the rest of the Tapestry in Prestonpans. Mark Makers Exhibit

A River Runs Through It

Rapt Threads finished their last project. Each participant had several items that they had to include in the design. It could be no wider than 10" but any desired length. And here is the finished result.

A beautiful sunny warm day with a light breeze and good company. It doesn't get any better than this. The Rapt Threads group are beginning their next project with some immersion dyeing for an exploration of color and stitching.
